JaCoby was so excited to start his first day of kindergarten but as you can see he was also not sure what to think....He kept asking me a lot of questions, like "Mom will I get to eat there?? Mom will I get to learn to read????"
He wanted us to take a picture of him with his backpack. He was excited to have his own special place.
He was also very excited when he found his own name on the bored. He got very shy around the other kids and asked mom to stay.....Mom managed to make it through without him seeing me cry....barely.
He also found his own place were he could put all his treasures in....homework and etc...He was excited to find that there was already stuff in there for him. Notice his brand new shirt? I thought it made him look so much older...again I am trying not to cry, luckily Coby was there to hold my hand and help me to stay strong. I know he needs to be in Kindergarten it is just hard as a mother to let go and have someone else teach your child for a few hours a day....Although I have to admit the break will be nice I will be able to clean house while he is there and I figured hey its only 3 hours...right???.
Above JaCobys head is the Chica Chica Boom Boom board.....That is what his teacher calls it,... anyways it has a picture of a palm tree and lots of other fun trees. JaCoby even gave her his home work a picture of himself cut in the shape of a ginger bread man...He even decorated his hair all red lol. She gave him the assignment when she met with him over the teacher evaluation time last week. The assignment was to decorate his gingerbread man and make it look like him, so JaCoby got a red crayon and gave the gingerbread man pretty red hair...He drew out 5 fingers and then he drew 1 toe. I asked him why he drew only 1 toe and he said cause all his other toenails where behind the first one???? I know I know....I am still trying to figure that one out. I will try to get a copy of that and put it on the blog. It might be a while though because they are going to put his picture up on the Chica Chica Boom Boom Board.
I was surprised at how quickly he started interacting with all the other kids..... I am still amazed that I didn't break down and cry in front of him. I want kindergarten to be an exciting thing. I think he is more then ready!!!!! He is ready, I am just not sure I am. I have to admit I think even Dad was having a hard time...He got teary eyed a few times as we walked down the hallway and out the door....If it's this hard letting go (a little) what is it like when children go on missions??? I can't even imagine.....

The first day of school is always the funnest, and yet always the scariest. My kids started on Monday, and Payge will start Head Start soon. Love ya!
