Passing of a co-worker

Today I did something I hated, but knew I must. One of my co-workers Tony Bravo passed away 30 Jan 08, I attended his funeral today. Tennille and I both knew him. The funeral was quite interesting, especially since he was catholic and it was done in a Catholic Cathederal. It makes me greatly appreciate being a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.
I so very much adored the graveside services especially with the American Legion, the VFW, and the US Border Patrol all paying tribute including giving the US flag from each of the them to his spouse. It also included a three guns firing three shots as a salute. I don't think there was a dry eye there. This was quite appropiate given the fact he served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, in the Arizona National Guard, and was a lead mechanic for the US Border Patrol for the past 20 years.

It makes me want and hope for the same type of tribute for myself when I pass on, as every soldier who has ever sign the dotted line and has donned the uniform rightfully should.

On a side note about Tony, he was one of the kindest person one would ever meet. Every time he saw Tennille, he would only speak to her in Spanish since he knew she knew it. He was always giving candy or some sort of snacks to anyone that came to his desk, and JaCoby always made sure he got his fair share.

God Bless Tony.
